It is with profound sadness that the Inn Along the Way trustees share with you the news of the sudden death of our dear friend and longstanding board member, Stephanie Berry, on July 1, 2016.

A loving mother to her son, Will, and a gifted and passionate hospice nurse, Stephanie cared deeply about others; many, many of her patients adored her in return.

She brought that same care and dedication to the unfolding of Inn Along the Way. “I recall how, when asked to be on the board of Inn Along the Way, Stephanie just about jumped into my lap with her enthusiastic ‘Yes!’”

recalls board president Sherry Flint.

Stephanie was a joy to have as part of our team; fully engaged and invested in the collaborative work of building a beautiful environment where future generations will thrive. Friends of Inn Along the Way who attended the

recent Spring Gathering at Chapman Farm may remember seeing Stephanie help youngsters plant sunflower seeds and decorate small pots at a table in the milking shed. During a recent strategic planning retreat, Stephanie said that the unfolding of Inn Along the Way was “magical,” as she sat knitting scarves for veterans.

She was a part of that magic.

On her refrigerator, Stephanie had posted the following quote by Edward W. Bok, "Make the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it.”  We are grateful that her life personified this.
